Default passenger airbag switch
does anyone know if the 2006 boxster has the smart
passenger seat
that will turn off the airbag is a child sits in the seat?
I thinki fthe person is below a certain weight
the airbag switches off

AFAIK, no. There is, however, a dealer installed Porsche optional keyed switch to turn off the airbag.

Yes, my 2006 does. If I place a light item like my portfolio (water bottle, etc) on the seat the Aibag off light on the center console illuminates.

just got my 2006 non -s-
65lbs son with car seat turned off the airbag switch fine
Drove today in the slushy/snowy chicago weather with 19 inch summer tires
no problem
