perhaps, but not necessary. I'm 5'10 170lbs. and have logged many hours in-n-out (luv them burgers & fries) of the lotus. just happy I didn't "buy" into the MSRP+$$$ frenzy. Otherwise, I'd be basking in the deep fryer along with the doughnuts.

I'm probably in the minority here, but as a 135lb lightweight, I'm actually thinking Lotus would be a great fit for me. I almost picked one up when the 05 Elise was going at 3k BELOW MSRP.

Even as a daily driver, it'll seem like a treat compared to my current daily ride (which is a motorcycle....). I mean, it has a roof! Plus a real windshield! And a radio -- with speakers! Heat and even an optional AC!

that's a big distinction.
one is not better than the other. they are DIFFERENT.
btw, exige is NOT 51k. with only 300 or so coming to USA, it will be marked up to wazoo..... presumably exige owners want to track it, you then get the track pck for about 2k, a few other options like LSD... it's $55k + mark up....
I don't see a markup yet. I know a dealer in the Northeast that has 3-4 Exige spots open at MSRP. If people pay over sticker they aren't too bright.

ah. you are luck out at NE. here in sunny CA, everything is marked up ugh.
but then the internet makes price transparent so we can buy out of state.
