Many porsches here are company cars and the boss does not want the staff discussing how much he spent on the car.

Removing the badge leaves the average Joe (or Hans) unable to recognise the higher more expensive models. The logic is a basic model attracts less unwanted attention.

As an added cost option the "Cayman S" script on the rear can be painted to match the body color so it (presumably) blends in.
The "delete model designation" is a NO cost option.
Clear?
