Default 987 Tiptronic in 17" standard wheels V. 18" Boxster S wheels

Ordering a stock base plain vanilla 987 tiptronic, I wonder if stock 17" would be the best setup in terms of handling and pick up. 18" definitely more visually pleasing. Any input to share?

I bought some 18" used from another 987 owner stepping up to 19s. The 18s are just a tad harsher over uneven surfaces with the significantly-lower sidewall. But, they offer much more front traction (the 17s are very narrow up front), and higher grip overall. They look much better IMO. I probably would have left the 17s on if the understeer wasn't so pronounced. Why Porsche spec'd such a narrow wheel up front, I'll never know.
