I've read about these "red clips" that will similuate that the top is up allowing the alarm to activate. Do these work on the 987s and if so where do I find one?

Looks like on the older models it enables the motion detector for the alarm with the top down ... I've had the top up and the windows down with the alarm active, and had to reach into the car to grab something off of one of the seats, no alarm has ever been activated. I'm guessing the 987 is missing the interior motion detector?

I got one from the dealer for my 987S- it's the same as for the 986 models. It holds the microswitch in that mekes the alarm system think the roof is up. There is a slight delay but if you stick your hand in the (open) passenger compartment it sets the alarm off. Scared the heck out of an 8 y.o. boy that reached into my car to point out the 300 kmh speedo to his little brother!!!

Here is my 986 red clip on a 987. The plate for latching the top on a 987 is actually a 986 part, so the clip works on a 987.
