Default Sport Steering Wheel

Anybody go with the thicker sport steering wheel instead of the basic sport wheel...is it worth the $750?

I got the sport steering wheel. I like it, however I think i only paid $250 for it on the S.
I don't think that it's worth $750 if that's what it costs now or for the non-S.

It wasn't to me. In fact, I even wonder about my judgment in ordering the $250 sport wheel, as it's only about 5 mm smaller in diameter than the regular wheel.

Sorry, I should clarify. The web site lists the fol:

Code 435 Sport Steering Wheel. Three spoke steering wheel with smaller diameter and contoured rim. $250

Code 460 Sport Steering Wheel Leather. Three spoke steering wheel with smaller diameter and contoured rim. Rim and airbag cover in interior colored leather. $740 And finally,

Code XPA Thicker Steering Wheel-Leather. Sport steering wheel with thicker rim and smooth leather finish in interior color: thicker steering rim (2.2a)(with cross stitched seam), airbag module (2.2b), steering wheel hub cover (2.2g). $1050

I'm wondering about going with the last one at $1050 instead of the basic at $250. Anyone seen or have this last one?

I'm not sure, but I think the "thicker" sport wheel is only thicker at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, where there is a flange-like bulge or "thumb rest." I don't remember if a leather covered wheel was among those I compared. Actually I liked the standard wheel fine. I thought it offered good thickness and grip. That's why I think even the $250 sport wheel may be unnecessary, although I ordered it anyway. I woudn't give the $1050 wheel a moment's thought. But I will suggest this; if you really want it, I think you should get it. If there's anything worse than regreting that you ordered option A, it's regreting that you didn't order option A. Adopting that principle led me to order the sport wheel, the sport seats, and the Bi-Xenon headlamps, so it's certainly not a money-saving principle.

i bought it and love it - i would definitely order it - on the S it was only a $250 option. Out of all the options it might be the least expensive (never can say cheap about anything except the stereo quality!)

The entire wheel should be thicker - it's wrapped with an extra layer of leather all the way around.
