Default Just got a new Boxster S

Hi Folks,

Just joined the club. Silver Boxter S.
For those of you in the SF Bay Area, I had a great buying experience at Carlsen.
Actually I leased. 820/month for a 59.5k S.

This is my first Porsche and so far... all
The driving sensation is noticeably different from other cars I've had (BMW M Coupe, Audi TT...) feels more planted, steering more direct, the agile front end (because of no engine there) is quite noticeable. And that engine sound!!! Even my wife, who normally complains about noise level, is saying "hmm... this sounds like the way a car should sound..."

The funning thing is, in our first drive around town, we followed a old style Beetle... and that engine note has some distinct similarities... must be the boxer engine note.

Congrats on getting your car. Post some pics when you can. Is the lease deal through Porsche? How many months? It sounds like their balloon finance option for 60mths. You must be financing around $56-57K?

Congratulations and welcome!

I'm sure you are unaware since you're new, but a pic or preferably several pics of your car are mandatory before you can post any further, otherwise you will be banned! Just kidding . But, we love pics, so show off your new car!!

I got my Midnight Blue Boxter S from Carlsen last week too. They were very pleasant to deal with. I know the drill - Pics soon. Frankly, I've had so many new cars that if I don't make a point to take some pictures the car may be gone before I get around to it.

I agree about the exaust note too. I just love the way it sounds and it makes me want to rev the engine while driving just to hear it.

Jester,
Welcome to the club and congrats!

Palting,
Don't want to be banned from this board, so here is a picture of my 987S...still breaking it in so won't see the track until next season (can't wait).

Thanks, Gents. When it comes down to it, there really is no bad color for the 987. They all look great!
