Been looking for recommended jack-stand placement for putting all four corners on stands after lifting with a couple floorjacks at jacking points. 2007 CS wondering what is commonly done -have no experience with this car- thanks for any insight
What works for me is jack up right rear jack point, place stand under right front jack point. Repeat on left. That gets the front up.
For the rear I jack at one of the big flat diagonal suspension bars, underneath one of the rear wheel aluminum suspension castings. Then put stands under the two rear jack points. That gets the car level on four stands.
Use a thick rubber pad or block of wood on your jack to avoid scratching anything up.
Yeah, that's where I jack in the rear. To raise the front, though, I find it easier to do it the way I described. If you jack at the rear jack point the front one on the same side comes right off the ground.

That crossbar on the floor Jack is something I’ve never seen before. Gives effect of two jacks and no worries about stress/twist of frame (though everyone says they are rigid and not an issue which is probably right).
that pelican article I should have researched but thanks much for posting it.
appreciate tips from all - first time putting it in the air so being cautious. I have two pair of ramps so may just lift to position them under tires
I’ve seen those and they seem like another very good option especially for someone planning to be under there a lot. 399 + free shipping is not bad imo. Guess I’ll use what I have for now.

I leave them under the car, so it’s pretty easy to just slide them in place and then up it goes!

I’ve got lift bars, too! Picked them up locally for free… Only used them a couple of times as my jack is not quite low enough, and then I got the QuickJack. If someone in the Bay Area wants the lift bars, they are free for the taking. (They are gone)

As you can see it is from the Swedish company „BAHCO“, which is well known here in Germany.
The crossbar ist about 100 € and fits perfectly to the jack.
So one pair of ramps are 3” higher than other pair. Is there any advantage of having rear higher than front (or opposite) for draining purposes? I’ll fill and check on level floor I.e. …Is the oil pain level or tilted front or back ?
