This drives me nuts... what's the easiest way to adjust the steering wheel so when my tires are straight I also get a straight steering wheel? I'm not sure how something like this would happen - I've only enjoyed my 987.1 Base for 4 months. I would think that adjusting the steering wheel may be the way to go - any good tutorials on that?

Either someone took the wheel off and wasn't paying attention when they put it back on, or something is wrong with the rack and/or tie rods.
When doing an alignment you have to be very careful to adjust the tie rods evenly to keep the wheel straight.... its not uncommon to get this wrong. The fix is to simply readjust the tie rods. You should never need to remove or adjust the wheel itself.
In your case the wheel is out by close to 90 degrees... Did the previous owner have a drug problem?

It’s an easy fix via the steering tie rods but usually not that far off to start. I’d just pay a shop for a front alignment, not a costly thing. Make sure the two steering rack bolts are secure. Easy.
