Default First Drive

Picked up my new to me Boxster S yesterday, a 2008 with 25,500 miles, one owner.

I happened to be going through Memphis on the way home so stopped at Driven Racing Oil HQ and picked up a case of their fuel additive, one of which I immediately used.

Shout out to Porsche Club of America for the educational videos on so many things, especially their four part series on bore scoring and fuel.

Spent a couple of hours tooling around Hot Springs, AR with lots of twists and turns, it was a ton of fun, everything I imagined it would be. Will get in another 4 to 5 hours of back road driving today in East Texas on my way home to The Woodlands, TX. Will be mostly driving it in coming weeks, months and years on various back roads of Texas.

I intend to drive the wheels off this thing on weekends. Lots of other interests and toys but it is such a great way to decompress from the week, much like my Harley was for me 30 years when I first purchased it for the same reason….decompress on the weekend.

I probably know less about engines and such than anyone on this forum, though I have spent a lot of time in recent months learning and researching. Perusing these pages has already been an education leading up to this purchase and looking forward to many more tips, suggestions and advice.

Beauty car! Love the "long drive home" experience. Great way to find out just how delighted you are in your choice, right?

Love the color

Welcome! Impressed that you did all the right research before buying the car!
Since you went to Driven HQ I assume/hope that you'll be using Driven DT-40 with a 4K OCI?

Just noticed you're just north of Houston, you need to sign up for Boxstoberfest in Fredericksburg. Registration opened July 5th and it fills up fast! Folks come from all over Texas. https://www.boxstoberfest.net/
It's a great event, usually over 130 cars! I'll be there!

Yes, will be using Driven’s oil and additive.

I will look into Boxstoberfest and try to attend. Thank you for the heads up.
