Hey gang - I've settled on acquiring a 2005 Boxster or Boxster S.

Two items that I'd love help on:
- when was Gen III IMS bearing installed? I've read some replies on here that it was post 02/2005 production cars. Is there any way to check by the VIN #?
- re bore scoring, I've read / viewed mixed resources. some say the 3.2L engine isn't prone but I suspect any of the pre-20011 engines are prone to bore scoring. Resources here would be great
