2005 987 (new to me)
I bought the plastic pieces to go on the end of the pivot arms for the convertible top as they were broken.
But when I went to replace them I saw the arms looked like this!
I don't get it. There's no way the top mech is strong enough to bend these , i couldn't move them a millimeter with vice grips or a hammer.
Surely they should be fairly straight? How did they get line that?????

Would these for a 2006 fit a 2005?
can't see there would be a difference
Hi @MattDarr , that is impressive damage. I’ve had trouble with mine too, and I believe the convertible transmission has enough torque to damage the arms like that - happened to me on one side. I paid over a grand to get mine fixed only to have the transmission gears break. I gave up, disconnected those rods and open/close my top manually. It’s quick, and I don’t have the anxiety of worrying if the rod ends will snap and tear the rubber liner - you should check yours as this could be expensive (water will flood the interior). Best of luck with the repair!
