As was known, the TEMP and FAN "rocker" buttons on my climate control and worn and sticky.
I can buy a replacement set of buttons for $20 to $30 and pull the unit, dismantle and replace the buttons - does not look too hairy at all to do that.
My unit has the "AC MAX" button vs. the AUTO button. Has anyone successfully and with first hand actual doing so, replaced the entire climate unit (from a pull or ebay used, etc) with the one that has an AUTO button and had it working? I have to imagine this would totally work and no other steps would be necessary. There are two main data cables that feed that unit and the unit itself would talk to the compressor, etc.
Seems in mid to later 2008 they fixed the sticky button material and if I can find an AUTO climate control unit with clean rocker switches an an AUTO, I'd be willing to spend the $250 to $300 on a used one and swap it with mine to gain AUTO and gain clean new rocker swiches.
Thanks in advance.
