Default Handbrake warning

So out of nowhere today I’ve gotten numerous “Handbrake” warnings while driving. Sometimes it’s just momentary and other times it may stay on a few seconds! Anyone here ever experience this sort of thing before? It’s an ‘06 Boxster!

Thanks!

I would check the parking brake components. I had to replace this Parking Brake Shoe Hold Down Spring on the passenger side as it was not pushing/holding the parking brake shoe.

Hi
The handbrake light doubles up as brake pad wear indicator and brake fluid low indicator, so best check those first.

Will do! Car has 30K miles so maybe I am worn down to a sensor!
