Default Alarm beeps

Is there a way to enable beeps for arming or disarming the alarm.
My 2012 cayman base flashes the marker lights once for open and twice for locked.
I would love a beep or chirp.
Can this be programed?

No, there is no "beeper" available on the car to perform this function - many have asked.

There is a 3rd party device that adds this functionality: https://www.mods4cars.com

I haven't used it myself, but it seems to be well regarded.

$200 on sale.
ouch!
The module does a lot more than I want.
Not sure it is worth it for one small missing feature.
How the hell did Porsche miss this?

EDIT: Porsche seems to have used the horn beep to warn you that the alarm didn't set for some reason.
Hence not using it for "alarm set".

Yeah, I believe if you leave the glovebox open, it will beep to warn about that. I don't recall if that also means it actually arms or not.

I agree, I just want the beep. Note, if you get an OBD scanner like the Foxwell, there is an option in there that implies it can enable a beep, but it supposedly doesn't work in our cars and ends up needing a PIWIS to fix the misconfiguration... so beware NOT to try that.

I agree, I need confirmation that the alarm armed... mostly because the turn signal lights aren't visible from the side of the car. I wish they would flash the side-markers, but they don't do that either. It's annoying for sure. I try to listen for the locks as I leave the car, but sometimes you can't hear it. I would love to find a way to get the beep.
