Thanks guys,
the 12.5mm drill bit did the trick. Drilled out most of the shell, just left some steel thread bits which came right out with the 14mm taper tap. After that, smooth sailing. I think I posted a pic of the drill guide awhile ago. That and the bore camera were most useful with this procedure. As long as you can “see” what’s happening and proceed slowly, it an be done. The drill guide served it’s purpose and I’m hanging onto it as a momento. Not much use now as it was bored out to accept the 14mm tap. I have all the extended drill bits as well. I did change the plugs on the other side and was sweating taking out #1 plug. Did it from underneath the car using the 6”- 3/8” extension. Broke loose, sprayed a bit of Kroil in the plug hole, worked plug back and forth, and it eventually came out. Threaded in new plugs by hand, torqued to 22 ft. Lbs. as specd by Porsche. Done and done. Now onto front drop link replacement and sway bar bushings. I am a glutton for punishment! Wife hasn’t left me yet, very supportive during this whole event. Now I gotta do some things for her around the house that have fallen behind because of the Cayman project.
