Default 987 tail lights always on

I recently posted about a handfull of electrical issues on our '05 and the folks of this forum solved a major issue of the rear control module being bad. Just replaced it and now, the only issue left (other than a few others) is that the tail lights are always on when the ignition is on (headlights turned off). Coild this be an ignition switch that is bad? Maybe the headlight switch but I believe, that only tells relays to open. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I assume you have PWIS or Durametric to program the RCM. You should be able to control the lights with the software, that will rule out (or pinpoint) a bad input.

This is a used replacement part.
I did contact a friend that works at the Porsche race shop and they do have the PIWIS, but I need to find instructions on step by step how to program the lights. Are they out there somewhere?
Thanks!!

Usually the tail lights doesn’t need a special coding. Mostly coding takes care about the Cayman, Boxster, 911 differences (convertible tops for example). I assume that your replacement rear control module may be flood damaged as well.
