Default Check Engine / P0507

2006 Cayman S

-Had trouble getting it though emissions.

-The evap and air system would not read ready (no trouble codes, just wouldn't got to ready).

-I got a technical review, and the waiver to test it on the dyno and actually read emissions (not just rely on the OBD system)

-Tested this morning, passed with flying colors

-When they handed me the keys, ATC and ABS lights were on. Cleared with the first full rotation of the wheels

-No lights, clean emissions, life is good

-1/2 mile later, the check engine light came on. The idle appeared to be searching from about 1000 to 1600 RPM at lights

-I checked the gas cap it was good

-I got home, and read the code on my generic Innova reader: P0507 Idle air control system RPM higher than expected

-Was this just coincidence that it was 1 mile after my emissions test, or are the two related?

-Suggestions on fixing it?

Additional information: I probably put 200 miles on it today running around, probably 6 stops. When I got home, I read the code. the car sat for probably one to two hours. When I started it again, there was a good puff of oil smoke at start up. It did not remain smoking. Air oil seperator? Would that throw that code?
