Default Dead Cig Lighter 2012 Cayman

Before I start digging in tooo much, wondering if anyone has seen this before or has any ideas or hints as to what to look for.

New to me 2012 Cayman.
Cig lighter in console was dead.
Found the fuse blown, replaced the fuse and it did not re-blow, but the outlet is still dead?
Thanks in advance

i don't know whether or not the cig light socket is switched or not with the ignition. i think i'd use a multimeter at the fuse to determine if it is or not....just so i'd know what to expect under various circumstances.

if there is power to the fuse, it shouldn't be hard to find where the wire to the cig socket has failed.

i think if there is no power to the fuse even with the ignition turned on, i would be very disappointed.

In a 987.2 that socket should be "always on". Start to see you have power at the fuse. Then I might check the wiring under the center console. There is a connector under there so that you can remove the console. Maybe the console was out (shift cable replacement?) and not plugged back in.

OK, I may have screwed up.
I must have looked at the fuse chart too fast (new car to me, and on a long drive home) and did not notice that the Cig lighter and "Power Outlets" are on different fuses.
I pulled the Power Outlets fuse, saw it was popped and assumed that was the problem, so I put in a spare.
Maybe both the Cig and Outlets fuses were blown.
I did not know it had another outlet.
So tomorrow I will check, and hopefully it is just a blown fuse.

My favorite is when a coin or other such thing falls inside. I had a friend who dropped a dime in there, so it would only blow the fuse after a drive, as it would normally sit on the tip-terminal otherwise... but driving would cause it to vibrate and touch the barrel, and blow the fuse...

Bottom line, check inside for something weird, just in case.

Yep, Other fuse was blown.
Darn, spent $35 on a flashlight with a USB charger port.
it got me home, but dies not charge my phone fast enough to be worth the cost.

why the heck is the author 12v connection rated at only 70 watts?
the Cig lighter is 140 Watt, at least.
