Default How did you seat your AOS? (987.2 Boxster)

I'm in the process of replacing my AOS and getting this thing seated seems nearly impossible. I read some commentary that the new o-rings are kind of stiff but this is ridiculous. Initially I had lubed it up and got it aligned then started working it in by tightening the front and back mounting screws a few threads at a time to suck it in. That led to the rear mounting point snapping off (FFS!). Now I'm using a pry bar between the top of the unit and the frame but the rear port still doesn't seem to want to seat. The front port is almost completely seated but the rear doesn't seem to want to go. It didn't feel like there was anything that could have obstructed it from inserting into the port. Am I missing something? Any tricks from the RL community?

Which part # is your AOS? Let me know how it goes. I have an AOS on order right now.

Just wanted to double check you had the right part #. Looks good. Hopefully someone can chime in soon or it pops in sooner or later.

I took it off just to make sure there weren't any obstructions. I re-lubed the area then rested the AOS on the ports and put a hairdryer on it for a few minutes. After it warmed up I was able to rock it into place without too much trouble.

Sounds similar to seating a motorcycle carb in its boots. A little heat makes the rubber seals pliable and greatly helps matters!
