Thanks for posting. BTW, that's $34,207.00, so our markets are a bit out of synch.

I really don't like any or many YouTube hosts. I'm idiosyncratic that way. JayEmm is one of those I dislike the least.

Recently, I've been consuming back issues of Excellence. Just by coincidence, I'm currently reading the Nov 2010 issue, which features an article that recounts Patrick Long's driving both the 997.2 GT3 and the 987.2 Cayman S with PDK. His feelings on the latter? To quote Mr Long, "I just can't get over how great this car is! I could be forever happy with it."

In the US, this pricing is 987.2 base Cayman territory as established in this thread, https://rennlist.com/forums/987-foru...able-deal.html.

I'll leave it to others to opine on 987.2 CS pricing, but it's certainly a bit higher.

Granted, none of this takes into account the often considerable difference in pricing based on whether the car has a MT or PDK, high or low mileage, full or spotty maintenance history, etc.

Agreed. Hard to find a clean 987.2 S under 40k. Although looks like the mid 40k Ones on autotrader have been sitting for a while.

I've been watching his vids for several years and generally quite like them. He got tons of flack on the 982 4.0 forum when he said the GTS 4.0 wasn't that exciting to drive. This vid helps to solidify my love for my 987.2 6MT, though mine is a 2.9. He also picked the best angle of the car for the YouTube cover shot. Gawd, what a great looking car.

He’s committed a cardinal sin from most 987 Cayman owner’s perspectives here in the UK with his comments on the steering.
Suffice to say they haven’t been well received ...

Some enterprising individual was sufficiently annoyed by the reviewer’s comments he decided to check the MOT (Ministry Of Transport - our compulsory annual safety check/test) history of the car used in the video.

Turns out it failed it’s MOT on 6th October ‘21 with a broken/cracked front suspension spring ...

It was subsequently re-tested on 15th October and passed.

The only way to make the 987 steering that poor is to fit poor quality tyres, drove on old, hard tyres, or run sub-optimal suspension geo settings (or drive around with broken springs ... ??)

Damn that is some serious homework. Kudos to the investigator. Yeah was surprised he didn’t like the steering, basically the best part of the 987 997

Very nice video Jayem
The reason I bought a 987.2 (BS) was because it was repeated reviewed and analyzed as being the best size and having the best steering. And noted as having last hydraulic steering. After a year of ownership I agree.
When fitted with PASM and modified with a DSC module (a 5 minute no tools exchange) this is by far the most compliant and capable car I have driven. It's a magnificent drivers' car. I added an electronic throttle mod that ramped up the pedal response. Between the 2 mods this little car is all you will ever reasonably need on a back canyon road for grins and giggles. Add to that the Boxster top down with sports exhaust and every drive is a thrill.

The UK didn't experience the dramatic decrease in purchases of the 987.2 like we did in the US... they continued to buy them at somewhat the same rate as they bough the 987.1 thus they're relatively cheap in the UK.

That makes sense. Lucky them
