Default Found OBD fiasco

Team
So the 2008 Cayman Base I got I am now starting to work on different items so my first step is to look at the OBD port and this is what I found.
From the picture attached I can say that the purple connection is the one working with my OBD tool.
But what are does other two connections ]

purple is OBD but what are the other two on the left

it seems they are attached to each other and zip tied to the plastic

not sure what the purple one is, could be an old OBDI connector, but don't know why a 2008 model would have one. by 2008 ODBII had been the standard for a decade.

anyway, the other two (where one is spliced to the other) looks to be an OBDII port (isosceles trapezoid shaped) and an ODBI port. looks like the ODBI connector was a DIY job.

BTW, my 2007 cayman base model has an ODBII port on it, AFAIK. in fact, it may have two. one for the ECU the ECU computer and one for the body various body component computers.

They look like male and female parts to a 16 pin plug. I don't know what it for, but you need to get an electrical diagram and find the 16 pin plug locations and what they power.

Hopefully someone will know what circuit they are for.

Could the black connectors just be an adapter cable of some kind - one end connects to the purple and the other some other device? Maybe they just tucked the rest of the cable length behind the panels to make it a bit neater? I see there's another cable going off behind the panel - maybe it just goes to power so it gets carried over to whatever was plugged in?

Basically, see if you can follow the cables... because I don't believe it's stock.

IMO, purple is for OBD and the other 2 are wire harness connection. Does your scanner show any systems inop? Will the car start and run?

Everything works on this car as it should from what I have seen and runs perfect no weird sounds at all suspension is also perfect.
I was just going to start upgrading some items and getting to know the car better and realized that scenario, As soon as I get sometime I will go back under under and figure out what that connection goes to. it will be another few days for some updates on findings.I am steering towards so left over connection for external accessory

Looks to be a relay for some kind of ECU tuning. Possibly Racechip?

Just my .02 cents
