I owned a 997.2 C2S. Have driven two 987's (one 987.1, one 987.2 Cayman R). I preferred the 987.2 Cayman R, but a lot of that was the 997.2 C2S was PDK and just not as involving. As mentioned though, the power level of the 997.2 C2S is going to be noticeable (also torque). The 987.2 Cayman R I had to get into the throttle more, but I almost preferred that for the street. Both are great cars, just different purposes.

My little 987.1 with GT3 brake master cyclinder, stainless steel brake lines, H&R springs and FVD tune, intake and exhaust really feels like a little brother to the 997 GT3 that I rented for track time. I didn;t get all that much time pushing the GT3, but I keep getting pulled back to the experience when I push the Cayman.
The only thing that I don't like about the Cayman is feeling cramped on long drives. My 944 had better legroom, and I suspect a 997 would as well. I can't really say I need more power, with the low weight of the 987. A 997.2 C4S would be nice, but also more bloated.
