Default Dumb Question… P0455

So I got a P0455 code today. Yesterday I got gas and left my engine running while filling up, would this throw the code a day later ? I’m assuming it would. Just not sure how long it would take to recognize that, if it would be immediate or not. I’ve re-seated and tightened the cap and cleared the code. Just curious.
