Default Looking for an "engine-running" signal

I'm installing an electric power steering pump (the TRW pump used by lots of others) in my 2007 Cayman-S.. To prevent the pump from killing the battery by running when the engine isn't running, its suggested to connect the pump's trigger wire to the alternator output signal. Unfortunately that's in the back of the car and the pump is in the front. Does anyone know a convenient signal in the front trunk that goes to 12V only once the engine is running?

Not sure what the "Start Lock Relay" does.. But it does look promising.

I would test this thoroughly to understand its function. Last thing you want is PS shutting down unexpectedly..

But really, grabbing the generator feed from the ECU is pretty straight forward.

I believe the start lock relay is part of the immobilizer function — prevents cranking if conditions aren’t met.
Finding the alternator signal at the ECU is easy. Just trying to avoid running a wire if there’s something already there.
Thanks-
