Default I can't get my radio to stay off...

This isn't really a technical issue and it's hardly critical and I feel stupid even asking about it, but...

2014 981 Cayman base...I drove the car for two years before I turned the radio on and now it's been on for two years and won't stay off. Even when I have switched it off, every time I crank the car, it comes back on, and I have to switch it off again. If I turn the volume down to its lowest level and then switch the radio off, the next time I start the car it's comes on and is audible. I've done the key preset routines with the radio off several times to no avail...It presets everything but the radio. Oh, and if I change the PCM function from "TUNER" to another function, the radio stays on in the background. All I want is for it to stay off until I want it on (Which is never). Any ideas?

Correct, as stated above you press and hold to turn off the radio. Short pressing the button is just a mute function, however you are not alone as there are many that dont seem to realize this based on the years worth of of forum complaints about the issue

On my 2014 911 its the same thing. Radio comes on every time i start the car. Others say the same. Push the button to turn off and it stays off untill the next time its started. Slightly annoying but have gotten used to it. Just a minor quirk. OTOH, on newer models the auto stop start default to on and you have to turn it off after starting the car. On my year it defaults to off and you have to turn it on if you want it which is never. Just another first world problem.

Awesome - I've wondered the same thing. Who needs a radio when you have PSE

ICNU, you've posted 73 posts...Hardly enough to qualify you to critique another RL's posts...This kind of crap is why I don't post questions on RL much any more...Have some frickin' respect...Thread closed.
