check low oil indicator error?
My 2011 Boxster Spyder with 7700 miles on it has twice displayed a check low oil indicated light in the last 70 miles driven over the last two weeks. It's oil was changed by a competent tech late last fall before I put it in storage until early this May when I drove it a couple of times with no issues. Both times the car was thoroughly warmed up and when the message appeared I pulled over with the car idling and on a level surface, ran the oil level test. Both times the oil indicator showed full. The message went away both times but after the first time it came back after about 45 miles of canyon driving in the mountains. Neither time was I driving the car hard but both times the car was being driven in the mountains. Would going consistently uphill or downhill for a distance cause this sensor to report a low oil level? My Cayenne fuel gauge shows slightly less fuel going uphill than down under these conditions. Any other experience out there with this issue? Thanks in advance.
