Lightbulb Disable Spoiler Warning

I recently had a Getty Design wing installed on my 987.2 and unplugged the stock spoiler motor since it would hit the wing base. However, whenever the car reaches ~75mph, I get a dash warning with an audible beep indicating spoiler malfunction. It doesn't happen just once, and will drive you nuts after it keeps going off on a long highway drive.
Seems like the only solution I found is have the dealership disable it in the computer? Or spend a lot of money on a Duremetric Pro... Is there any other (possibly cheaper) option somebody knows of? Perhaps a resistor to trick the computer thinking it's still plugged in. Even just disabling the beep would be great.

I’m in the same boat and my understanding is it can be disabled from a PIWIS or Durametric Pro. I haven’t had time to take it to my local shop to have it disabled yet and my local dealership said they would not disable it due to safety reasons even though I have a fixed wing in place.

If you figure a work around then please post it!

Somebody local with a Durametric Pro is willing to do it for me so this seems like the best option if you can find someone local.
Another option, from what I read, is the Foxwell Tool (nt510 or 20 with Porsche software) is able to disable the spoiler warning. At the price of $129, it's a much cheaper alternative to the Durametric Pro.
I was about to order one, but I wanted to get this fixed before a little road trip next week so I couldn't wait. Hope this helps!

Thanks for doing the extra homework! I ended up buying the NT530 and was able to change the spoiler position from retractable to fixed. I just haven't driven it to test it quite yet. I also pulled my DME report and reset my oil service using this tool. If anyone has any questions I can try my best to answer them.

with a PIWIS you switch the motor off by changing this: “BMC hinten: coding value ausstattung spoiler 2d” from “ja” to “nein”

I'm glad to hear that! Did you order it directly from Foxwell? It's definitely a handy tool to have and I may just place an order for one again.

Yes, I ordered it from them directly and it shipped from New Jersey (IIRC) to California in a few days. I’ll be at the track this weekend and can reply if the spoiler warning isn’t gone.

Edit: Confirmed, the spoiler is disabled and there is no warning.

Reviving this thread as i did disable my warning using foxwell, but it also disabled the other buttons on the switch panel that has the spoiler button. Anyone else have this issue and able to solve? Thanks!

Unfortunately I sold the car last year and do not remember exactly how I did it. I just remember going through the menu screen until I found Spoiler and then set it to Disable. From what I remember, I did not disable any other buttons and all functions still remained.

I believe if you go into the Programming side, then into the rear control module, you can set the wing to fixed/retractable there. It's pretty easy, you may just have to look around a little...

Be sure you have the latest update for the scanner, of course.
