Default How to stream via bluetooth while phone plugged into USB

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? If I am streaming music from my phone using bluetooth, but need to plug my phone in to charge it, the car automatically switches the input to "iPod." Using Pandora, this does not give me any data on the screen about what is playing, and I lose the functionality of the buttons in the car to skip songs, etc.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Your phone menu options may allow 'Charge' and 'Data' option?
Chose 'Charge' if so, and this should then make sure the phone does not present a memory function to whatever it plugs into...

I'm not the most tech savy guy out there, but I was not able to find the setting you are referring to. Iphone 7, anyone able to point me to the right menu to select this option?
Other ideas?

Hit media again until you end up on bluetooth. It defaults to usb when you plug in.

Hope this works for you

When the phone is plugged in, there is no bluetooth option to select from. This seems like a silly thing to not be able to do.

Charge it from the cigarette lighter, with one of these would also work?

Or, buy an Android like all the cool kids are these days and give the Iphone to your grand dad?

Maybe find a charge-only USB cable? That might cause the car to "not see" the data, and not try to use it? Or you can find a USB "condom" which does the same thing - it eliminates the data pin connections.

I didn't know such a thing existed, sounds like a good solution for less than $10, thanks!
