Default 987.2 Rear Bumper Cover Removal

I've looked at some threads on here and some on Planet 9. I found a lot of broken and outdated links. I also checked YouTube first. Didn't find what I was looking for. So...... how hard is to remove the rear bumper cover on a 987 Spyder? It looks like the spoiler should not be an issue like on the other models, since it is affixed to the rear deck lid. I assume I start with removing the rear tail lights from inside the trunk, and work from there. I am paranoid of breaking some hidden clip or not being able to reinstall the bumper and get it sit perfectly flush.

Am I better getting a body shop or a dealer to do this? It's kind of an unusual situation, but I want to remove it because I can't get off this rear license plate hinge brakes setup which appears to have two screws that have lock nuts under the bumper cover. They absolutely will not unscrew from the outside. I'v tried channel locks and everything. Something is holding them in place from the inside of the bumper skin or maybe into the rear bumper beam. I also might remove the trailer hitch that was was installed by the previous owner.

Thoughts?

It's not difficult but I'm afraid you're mistaken on the spoiler. You remove that first, then the taillights, then multiple screws (several hidden), then slide it off. Send me your email address in a PM and I'll send you the pages from the manual.

Pelican parts has an instruction on it. Easy to do with basic hand tools and patience.

Spoiler is a non issue on spyders. It’s completely different than an S or base. There is a tiny little cover there. Is that what you mean?

Yeah, there's a long plastic curved piece that is velcroed inside the trunk, and appears to cover where the spoiler would be on other models. Even kind of looks like a spoiler. Like a big banana. LOL As I said, Spyder spoiler is attached to the decklid. I got some torx screws out along the bottom and the inner top area of the bumper cover. Now, to take out the rear lights and find out where the rear park assist module is plugged in. I've looked at some bumper covers for sale on Ebay top get a better sense at where all the screws and fasteners should be.

Okay, I think I truly found a good set of instructions. They're for a 987.1 Cayman but should be close enough.
