Welp, the hood looks good
The rear panel I screwed up on. The wait for it to dry and sand is killing me

Good for you - getting after it! Back when I didn’t have any money, but did have loads of time...I would have done the same thing. I bought quite a few beaters for a grand or less and learned to repair and learned to paint. My little voice in my head kept me sane-“ Just remember- it likely isn’t that hard, and what’s the worst that can happen?” The first time I took a car completely apart I nearly had a panic attack. Lol. Got through it, dealt with it in small victory sized chunks, and wound up with a sweet ride I wasn’t scared to actually use.

Maybe a silly question, are you painting it white or is this still the primer coat?

Painting finished, need to remove the paint around the edges, but wanted to show a sneak peak of it. I do need to put everything together, but maybe in a day or so. Also trim the rear diffuser to fit the bumper. And make better grills for the front

Subscribed. Very cool project! Kind of like RGruppe for boxsters, which we need more of.

I've considered a similar project - putting a 3.8 engine in a cheap base boxster and converting the body to spyder specs.

Please keep us updated!

Looking good! I would also recommend getting some wheel spacers to widen the track a bit - I think that'd improve the look even more.

Looks clean. I do a lot of 996 builds and have been thinking about messing around with a 987. Do you go to any of the shows around Dallas? I live in deep ellum and want to check it out in person. I’ll probably be at cars and cigars tomorrow. Just taking my macan s.

I wish I attended more events. This month has been insanely busy with work and travel. I went to a mavs and mocha in january? Ohh man, it's been some time. I appreciate the compliments. The 987 is pretty easy to work with. I have a new bumper coming in, just got a carbon steering wheel and a few other components from porsche. I'll update with photos soon.
