I am evaluating a 987 in Ruby Red Metallic from long distance. I really hate Burgundy in general, but this color looks quite beautiful.

So my question is this... what do you folks think of this color? Especially those of you that have seen it in person?

Yeah I have an 08 CS in ruby red metallic and I love the color. I wasn't super into the color when I got the car but it was such a clean example I couldn't pass it up. I also bought from long distance without seeing the color in person. Now I think it really suits the car better than other colors and its really nice to have something that's more unusual than silvers, greys, and blacks. Here's a pic from my iPhone a couple months ago:

 

Nice, you don't see that many and it's a nice change from the Grey/Silver, Black, White and Red

 

My first Boxster was an '08 RRM with Espresso Brown interior.

I absolutely loved that combo, so much class imo and when its freshly waxed its is amazing.

 

In a sea of monochrome Porsches, the more colourful ones stand out. I'm a big fan of RRM. I've only seen RRM on a 997, and it was positively delicious - Very deep and dark hue on the overcast day that I saw it, but I'm sure it pops when the sun is out!

What wheels are on yours @yachtfund ? They look similar to APEX (unless thats what they are!)

 

Thats exactly what they are! Apex SM10 in race silver. Thing bright silver looks best with this color. It is a darker color in most lights but the sun really makes it shine. Attractive but not too flashy. Here's some more pictures for OP if it helps get a better sense

Wow that looks incredible. Is that the only R in ruby red?

 

I saw another, it was on an offshore island, it might have been the Bahamas but I have not seen one in the U.S.

 

I think it's a bitchin' color, personally.

Id buy that ruby R and put it in my garage next to my peridot green R and never stop smiling.

Thanks for all the advice. Just could not commit to Ruby without seeing it in person and did not have time to fly to Florida.

I ended up buying a different Cayman yesterday - white and boring compared to a lot of colors. Wanted an easier to maintain (keep clean) interior color than Sand Beige, which is what the Ruby one had. And I love sport seats!

Hope I made the right call – only time will tell.
