I have an interesting issue. I replaced my seats with aftermarket seats to accommodate harnesses and a rollbar. The airbag and occupancy sensor lights are on and I expected that to happen. I have worked with one independent shop and one Porsche dealer to have the thorax airbags and occupancy sensor programmed out from the car. It appears that they programming works, but the issue reappears after starting the car. We even programmed a similar Cayman to make sure the programming was working properly. The changes did remain in the other car. I am a bit perplexed. My car is a 2007 987.1 Cayman S.

I've heard that software updates to diagnostic tools sometimes creates compatibility issues with coding of older modules in older cars.
I would see if they can flash the airbag module with a later version or find someone with a diagnostic tool from that era.
