Default IMS change in 2005 -- for Boxster (non S)

I am considering the purchase of a 2005 Boxster base model with a VIN that says production was March-1-2005. Would that mean it has the newer single IMS with less issues than the infamous problem IMS?

No. The only way to tell is to drop the transmission. My ‘S’ has 65,00 km on the original bearing. You buys yer ticket you take a chance.
