most electrical parts in most cars are manufactured by the SAME few companies around the world. very, very few automobile manufacturers make their own electrical parts, excepting wiring harnesses. it's just not cost effective. so just about every car manufacturer buys electrical parts from these third party OEMs. car manufacturers negotiate price and any special requirements with the OEMs for the parts they need, in many cases the part can be generic, like a spark plug or heater fan, or window motor. if so the car manufacturer is delivered the part in a white box and then repackages it before being sent to the parts departments at their dealerships. sometimes the car manufacturer supplies pre-printed boxes to the OEM with their logo on it. it varies. in this case porsche has paid bosch a bonus for each part to have their name embedded in the ceramic part of the spark plug. i'm sure porsche has to pay bosch a generous premium for this. for instance ferraris and fiats share a lot of electrical parts. but the price of the same part when bought at a ferrari dealership's parts department may well cost five to ten times the price of the same fiat part at a fiat dealership.
