My first Cayman, fourth Porsche
Just drove home my 2011 Base Cayman, PDK. Past cars include 944, 968, 996. After driving PDKs at WGI and Barber Motorsports Park I became a believer. It’s smarter than me.

Nice Cayman! I got my first Porsche (2011 Cayman S) in January. Never driven another Porsche. How do you find your Cayman compares with your 996?

Comparing to the 996, the 911 had more brute grunt, but the Cayman Drive so brilliantly. Also, the 996 interior seems crude in comparison, but it was a 1999.
i did one dumb thing buying the car and am addressing it now. I, being not that bright, thought Sport Mode was standard on all PDK cars. Ah, not so. I am scheduling with local Porsche dealer to have Sport/Sport Plus software and buttons installed.
i had to make a financial call between an early S and later base with the non-IMS engine. Very happy with the car and looking forward to track in Sport Plus.

My 5th, Hopefully a 2015 Cayman GTS
Going to the Porsche dealer to check out this 14,000 mile Carrara White GTS with every conceivable performance option. Drove it last week and was blown away. I have a 15,XXX mile Carrara White 2004 GT3 that is going to be sold. And I don't regret it for a minute. Tired of 6 speed, want PDK and Sports Chrono, Thrust Vectoring too.
I hope the PPI goes well...I'll post up if does.

Wow, that sounds great! Post pics and let us know how it goes. Good luck! There is nothing like driving a Cayman, so poised at speed and on track, yet perfectly easy to drive every day

Took the 2015 GTS to the Porsche dealer for a PPI. It passed....however when I got it home and on the lift, I found a few things that needed fixing: Seller paid $500 toward *** repairs. Leading edge of front half fender liners, were in rough shape, both fronts needed replacing. (Not noted by Porsche dealer in PPI)
- The transverse mini-spoiler under the front bumper was knocked off, I replaced it. (Not noted by Porsche dealer) ***
- Front rotors were cracking, replace them and the front pads.
- Calipers need repainting ***

Update, added the Fun buttons (Thanks, Porsche of Louisville). Sport mode makes the car come alive! Sport Plus is a madman, will use on track in the spring. With PDK this is a must!

When I had mine done I thought since I am going to track it I should get it done, after I had it done I could not believe the difference, I drive in sport most of the time it is really worth the cost, launch most is kind of a fun toy but have only done 4 or 5 times.
