Question Fuse Confusion! 2006 Boxster

Hi all, new member here. Hoping you can steer me in the right direction...

I have a *new* 2006 Boxster. The seat heater lights don't go on. I have not waited to see if they warm up...assuming not. I've checked the fuse map and don't see a code (that I understand) for the seat heater fuse. Anyone have experience with this? Is there some compute code that needs to be reset? Is a reset something an authorized dealer has to do?

Much appreciated.

Why haven't you waited the 5 minutes it would take to know if they were heating up?

It could be that the function isn't activated or it could be that the heater is working and you have a bulb out. I say take the time to figure out if the elements are heating up. If they are, you know you have a bulb out. If they aren't, you probably need to have a dealership activate the function.

No luck. Heaters do not go on. Anyone know if this is a dealer-only reset via computer, or something I can do myself?

I've read elsewhere that if it isn't working, it has to be "initiated" by a dealership. Have no idea whether this is true.

Default Finally Took it in!

Well, the weather improved so I caved and took in the Boxster for its 60k maintenance. The service agent is having issues with resetting the computer. The seat heaters are recognized and working, but the computer keeps saying they are not installed. Taking it to a neighboring shop today to see if their software is more up to date....

For those tracking a similar issue...this DID require a computer rest. Battery musts have been low/dead for too long before we bought it. Capacitors lost their charge and computer defaulted. Unfortunately an expensive Dealer visit, but all good now.

Thanks to all that chimed in.

Look what the dealer had in their showroom though....

restored from the bottom up...rebuilt engine....
