I've checked the fuse map and don't see a code (that I understand) for the seat heater fuse. since you are in this thread and have seat heaters, can you help me out?
Sure. What's your question?

Can you tell me which fuse is for the Seat Heater? I also don't see a code for the garage door opener. Are those both paired up with another fuse? Or, am I just reading the table wrong?

Thanks,
Carl

Hmm... I went and looked at mine and the little booklet inside that fuse box... nothing says seat heater nor the HomeLink buttons our control unit. Sorry, no help there.

I have heard there is another fuse / relay box in the car (rear boot?) but have been unable to find good info on it. Maybe someone can confirm and advise on that.

Magical.....all is well in this world.

Started right up, only PSM error. Moved the steering wheel right left while standing in the driveway, drove about 50ft and light went off.

15A fuse for rear spoiler (it was in up position) blew, replaced again before driving off. Now spoiler is down and upon my return the fuse is still fine (fingers crossed).

Co-worker of mine has subscription to AllDataDiy site for his Cayman, suggested I sign up to get the wiring diagram. It should come in handy in the future.

@carlucci9, the wiring shows power seat fuses in E1 and E2 position (big 30amp fuses on bottom Left). No mention of heater. Only "heater" reference I could find on the diagram is 40A relay, I'm not certain of the location but above the fuse box well into dashboard, position "12".

Thanks to all for the help, really appreciate it!!

pbedrosi:

FWIW, you may want to make a couple of additional changes to get to spec. According to the diagram, the fuses in Holder D should be as follows:

D1 - Diagram: 25 A - Yours: Correct
D2 - Diagram: Empty - Yours: Currently has a 15 A fuse in D2. I would pull it and if there is no change in your car, leave it out.
D3 - Diagram: 7.5 A - Yours: Correct.
D4 - Diagram: Empty - Yours: Correct
D5 - Diagram: 25 A - Yours: Correct
D6 - Diagram: 25A - Yours: Correct
D7 - Diagram: 15 A - Yours: Currently has a 25 A fuse in D7. I would put the spec 15 A fuse in D7.
D8 - Diagram: Empty - Yours: Correct
D9 - Diagram: 10 A - Yours: Correct
D10 - Diagram: 25 A - Yours: Empty. I remember you pulled this one, but I think that in addition to the audio stuff, D10 controls HVAC stuff.

Also, fuse A3 is not just your spoiler fuse. It appears to fuse the rear lid release and your horns as well. You may want to check each of those functions and make sure all is well there.

TMc993. I followed your recommendations. No change so all is well.

Only issue I need to diagnose is the A3 fuse keeps blowing. There are few items that may be related;
  • Trunk the lamp didn't work, even with a new replacement.
  • Top does not work, I get nothing when activating the top switch or unlatching the top (window down). The top has physical damage to linkages (broken plastic caps), I suspect the previous owner disconnected a harness somewhere.
I also noticed the passenger power window switch does not work and not illuminated (window works from driver side switch), I don't think this is related.

This is the well under the drivers seat where the body control module is located.

This is what a wet module looks like. Not pretty but super easy to repair. Just buy a new one.

Most of the balky items you mention are controlled by the body control module beneath the drivers seat. Remove the drivers seat, remove the module and check it to see if it got wet at one point. It's in a black plastic box that you can open. Check the plugs and the board top and bottom. If it is in bad shape they're only $288 and super easy to replace. It's not like the immobilizer nightmare that sits in the same place in a 986. it just needs to be paired to the car by an indy shop with the correct electronic gizmo. My guy charged me $50 to pair it and it took 5 minutes.

Edit - I have wiring diagrams for a 987 Cayman. Should be almost exact to a 987 Boxster. I'll try to attach here. See page 16 of the wiring diagrams for a complete list of rear body control module functions. Most of your issues are controlled by this one module. My guess is your module got wet at one time and it's toast - ask me how I know....

Hope this helps.
