Each summer my daughter and I take a road trip to the mountains the last week before school starts. We typically go zip lining, hiking and gem mining at the tourist trap places but it’s a great time in the car spending quality one on one time with my [baby] girl. She loves the top down driving and getting there is half the fun. The car is just a car but it sure facilitates some great, meaningful experiences and memories.
Oh man, this is the best. It's even better when they turn 18 and you can instruct them at their 1st DE.
You get a parenting gold star.

I've already dragged my reluctant daughter to car gatherings... at least 2x a month. Last year for Christmas we got an Xbox since our blu-ray player died... (really wanted an Oppo) and thought it would be fine for now since that's also the only thing she asked for but I qualified it with she WILL play Forza with me We rarely play it and neither are very good since we're not a video game family. But, man! She loves it and because of the games and modding the cars on the game she developed an interest at the local meets. She also helped me pick the boxster (really just the color and I was going to get the best deal at the time anyway but happened to get black). now she's much more a part of my hobby and that makes it lot more enjoyable. Kind of a "squad[family] goal" to be all car people
She's taken it really hard this past year since her step mom/ex wife ran away and this car has been huge in bonding.
She's lucky to have a solid Dad and a lifetime hobby that you can both enjoy.
If you have not already, please consider signing her up for the TireRack Teen Street Survival driving school when she is old enough. http://www.streetsurvival.org/register/
This is fun for both of you.

+1 Can't say enough good things about this program! My daughter took the course, sponsored by BMW CCA, at the Gateway International Raceway outside St. Louis when she turned 16.
Among other things, kids learn a lot about braking and car control in the wet.
Street Survival instructors ride along providing in-car guidance.
A nice "graduation ceremony" at the end.
I think there were more girls in attendance than boys, which was great to see.
Kudos to all the instructors that give their time to such a worthy cause.
I'm from NC (Charlotte). Went to college in Boone NC (in those mountains). Used to terrorize those roads on my 1976 Yamaha RD-400C and my 1976 BMW 2002.
