Have you driven either/both yet? You are comparing the flat-6 engine version to the turbo-4. Both are great cars, but have a completely different feel for how they deliver power and how they sound. I would recommend driving both.

Driving the 981 tomorrow, the 718 is to far to test drive easily. I have driven the 718s so I have some idea. Bottom line I could be happy with both but new to the newer Porsche cars and i am always looking for advice. To make matters worse there is an R near me that is in great shape but no buckets and no pse. I can live with that but worry about resale if I decide to get rid of it
The 981 is only missing the GTS interior package. Otherwise perfect.
I'd put that first and the Cayman R second. It's uncommon enough that the lack of sport bucket seats isn't a huge deal. PSE just makes noise and can be added at any time.
only thing I don't like is that it's black...I'd rather have silver.
can you post some pics?
both have CPO???
All 3 cars are silver (the only color I want ). None have cpo, 718 has rest of warranty to sometime in 2022, not sure if the 981 has anything left and is at a dealer, the R is a private seller
They are not in the same league tbh, but you'll be better off financially going with 981. But on a GTS car I'd want gts int pkg , or full leather at least. Unless it's purely for track abuse.
On the price they are what dealers listed. I'm not sure how much room they have in them and if they will deal. I'll find that out as the week goes on. One is at value according to online tools and the 981 is about 5k over. The guy with the R is not budging at 64k
