Default Sequential Shift Lights on 2008 "S"

Has anyone installed sequential shift lights on a 2008 Cayman S? It appears that in 2008, Porsche had an exemption where not all signals are processed by the can-bus, including RPM.

I purchased a light that works off of the OBD can-high, pin #6 and can-low, pin #14, however it does not recognize the tach signal.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

We have multiple CAN busses. The bus that goes to the odb port is not the "performance" (ECU) bus. I would have thought RPM was replicated to the ODB bus though. As a test you may want to grab the CAN directly off of the ECU.

If that works, the communications hub is in the cowl in front of the steering wheel. You can get to ecu CAN from there too.
