Base caliper color.
I bought a 2010 base Boxster. One of the previous owners painted the calipers red. I would like to paint them the original base color, but I’m not sure whether it’s black or a grey color. If anyone has a picture of the base calipers could you post it? Thanks in advance.

Base Cayman (black when new, then fades to gray).

Hey there...the calipers on the Base cars are black. These are both my 981 and 987 Base Caymans. (Harder to see on the 987...but you can just barely get a glimpse.) Both cars are the original caliper paint + waxed.

Are you changing it because you prefer the look of black, or so it's more original and doesn't look kind of like a S?

I want to put it back to original. It’s not an S and I feel like I’m trying to pass it off as an S when it isn’t. Someone also changed the exhaust tips to the Dual S tips which I will be changing back to original also.

Fair enough! I wouldn't judge someone for having red calipers on a base since I think they just look better, but nothing wrong with going original.

Only the rotor is different from base to S, not the caliper.
