Default 2006 987 S - 30K miles gearbox thump?

What would be the reasons that I'm hearing and feeling a somewhat rough thump/kickback from the driveline when coming rapidly off the gas?

No recent changes; car is somewhat babied/not driven a lot but maintained well. It had a recent oil change within 500 miles and I think the oil is slightly higher than normal (reads above top line in the electronic read) but engine and car runs perfectly.

I think it does the thumping/kickback in more than one gear but I would have to confirm...

I'm no expert but it does sound like at least one item to check would be the engine mount.

Thanks -- I assume if this just started happening it could be an engine mount getting there in age (time-wise since the car is low mileage)?
