Default Feedback from those who've changed to the new shifter cables on the 987.2

Would like to hear from those who've installed the new updated cables and brackets on the 987.2 but also from those who've done the old cables/numerics.
How high did you need to get the rear of the car to be able to get your arms/tools at the right angles to R&R the brackets/cables? Torques on the new brackets?
Anything to watch out for? I believe most align the cables from the top but tighten the alignment/retainer from the bottom?
