Hey all! New to the Porsche family! I had a post PPI that came out with rave reviews from dealer! However after driving around a bit the engine codes popped back up. Checking to see if anyone has had these and what may be a possible solution..
2009 Cayman Base, manual, 82k. (black with tan leather interior
)
P0084 Powertrain - exhaust valve control solenoid circuit (bank 2) (pending fault)
P0305 Powetrain cylinder 5 misfire detected (pending fault)
P2227 Powertrain Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance. (historic fault)
i ordered one ignition coil to replace #5; when it arrives i'll be sure to inspect the cables. She runs soooo good...however at times i get "reduce engine power' and the governor kicks and and i don't have full power (what i mean by full power is getting her above 4,000 RPM in a hurry- she takes her time). I had a friend clear codes again and drove it over 14 miles today and the CEL did not yet come back on. I also ordered a new fuel cap (as it is a cheaper option the going to the dealership! (parts are coming from Sunset Porsche).
I appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions!

PPI = Pre-purchase inspection.
FWIW, i recently replaced my plugs and all coils on my '05 987S at about 60k miles. 5 of 6 coils had small cracks in them. Ran noticeably better immediately after the updates. No CEL lights
Good luck.

New Update and all good news !!!!
based on feedback from local PCA member Sandy i did the following:
1) switched the solenoids up (if i get an error message for bank 1 the i know it is a bad solenoid, if not could be bad wire)
2) changed oil
3) replaced coil on #5
4) replaced fuel cap (sometimes light would go off when i filled up)
After driving for 5 straight days (over 300 miles) no engine light! I also had the the chance to use my iCarsoft POR II to reset oil change and clear codes (good product so far!).![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
3rd party links that Sandy found:
http://aldousvoice.com/2017/03/10/po...ocam-solenoid/
he also found that P0084 is not very common, normally these come up with wiring issues, (frayed wires, mice or other rodents that may get to them)
