Buy a relay, find a power wire which is linked to the ignition, and then put the relay inline with the power outlet and use the ignition line to drive the relay.
So are you saying find a hot wire like one that goes to the stereo splice into that wire using the relay and run that new relay line to the PowerPort. Then just cap off the hotline that’s running to the PowerPort now is that how it works?
The power port is meant to be direct to the battery in case the battery goes dead.
You can then charge the battery enough via that port to activate the servo to open the front trunk.
The batteries in these cars are known for leaving the owners stranded, so Porsche designed the system to allow easy access in the event of a battery failure.
I'm trying to do this exact thing in my '09 with PDK, but I'm a little confused about how you plug the wire into the top contact of A8. My add a circuit has a crimp connector at the end of the wire. Did you cut off the connector and just straight up plug the bare wire in? Wondering if there's a step I'm missing or if I need a different add a circuit.
So I managed to find the answer to this and thought I'd leave the info here for future DIY-ers. This thread over on Planet 9 had more detail and an alternate fuse location for power that I found helpful: https://www.planet-9.com/threads/blu...inally.106153/
