Default high number of owners

Hello,
I am looking into 2014 and 2015 Cayman Ss w/PDK and I have come across a few well optioned cars with low 20k miles but a few have had like 4 owners in that few of miles. Should this be a red flag? The CarFax show Event/Renewal as a couple of the owners.
I have seen high number of owners on different models sound in general why so many owners in such short miles?
I have typically been a 911 guy and just recently sold a 964 and looking for a replacement. My wish is C2S or C4S 997 w/PDK but budget seems to not afford me that option. I have always like the Cayman's and the 2014 and 2015 years fit the budget with many of the options I would like to have. I drove a 2014 S and was pleasantly impressed! Any items to look out for besides the high number of owners?
Thanks
Kris

It doesn't bother me. A lot of people have car ADD and will "try something new" every few months or a year. I'd bet they all upgraded to a better Porsche if anything.

The only Porsche I've tried to buy where owners are reluctant to sell is the Spyder. I still haven't forgotten the nightmare it was to track mine down. I had 3 sellers renege on their offers because they couldn't part with the car. Good news for me was it reaffirmed I needed to have one =]

I think it's fine as long as maintenance has been performed on time. I think the Cayman specifically may be more prone to car ADD since people may not realize what owning a 2 seat coupe (not a convertible) really means.

Multiple owners wouldn't worry me in the least. Many folks think the want a sports car until they have one, then decide it's really not for them.

There’s lots of car ADD out there these days, I wouldn’t be too worried about the number of owners as long as the car is in great condition and has consistent maintenance history.

Very common for these cars to have multiple owners and still have low miles. No worries.

Thanks for the responses! I will not get to worked up about multiple owners.

I love the Agate exterior. The second one with the butterscotch interior is like brand new. I looked at it the other weekend and it is as close to new as one could get. I have not looked at the second yet. What do folks think of the pricing?

Both links show the same Agate car.... The car looks to be low on the performance options (I don't see the Sport Chrono and no mention of the PASM/X73 or the PSE) and quite high on the mileage. Considering these factors, the price seems to be high to me.

My friend Ernesto and his son in law Oliver own a small agency here in metro Orlando which deals in mostly late model Porsche sales. Ernie is a fellow Porsche track enthusiast and a good friend. Their little company probably sells more used Porsche’s than many dealerships. They only stock the very nicest cars. Check out their inventory. https://www.milleniamotors.com/

Sorry my bad. I put the same listing twice. Here is the second Agate Cayman S in Mpls.

I did look and drive this one and it is as close to new as possible. Still low on the performance options as mentioned or I would be all over either one.

Here’s my thoughts:

If a MY 2014 - 15 Car has had 1 owner or several owners I’d want a complete service history showing that all of the annual services have been completed in a timely manner as well as a clean CarFax.

Personally id prefer a 1 owner car but I’m really picky.

I’s strongly suggest a PPI.

I’m not a huge fan of buying high priced cars from Craigslist.

Not sure if you’ve tried searching the “ Porsche Pre Owned Car Locator “ .

https://nationalpreownedporsche.com/...earch=1&page=1

Good Luck and BTW saw both of the cars you listed - Agate Gray is the fastest color Porsche ever made. Lol.

Quantity of owners only affects you if you're trying to pick up a crack *****. I personally look at service history and condition of the car. The telltale signs of misuse and abuse are no respecter of brands. Like others have said, I think it's smart to have a PPI done on these cars. I didn't have a PPI done on one of my sports cars and it ended up being wrecked. Mechanic put it on the lift and I just about had a heart attack. Lesson learned.

Agree with above comments re multiple owners can lead to lack of history/maintenance info which could be a dealbreaker. Regardless of the number of owners, a ppi is a smart decision.

Have fun shopping.
