Default 2007 Cayman RSR?

911 Cup rear suspension? check. 6 Speed sequential with paddle shifter? Check. Tractive / DSC shock system? Check. Full diffuser? Check. 4.0L twin turbo? Check... Wait thats GT2RS stuff! Unfortunately no double A arm front suspension but maybe next year? Coming to west coast tracks this spring.

TT 4.0 L with Albins sequential

Vision Motorsports in Laguna Hills CA. The car was eating transmissions even at 0.5 BAR boost so we decided to use an Albins sequential. That opened up a bag of worms and the conversion to a 911 style rear suspension.

Indeed. Great fun though! I could've found an existing CR car, but had to go off and build one from a nice street car (E/F-Stock, now SP3). Doh!

Expensive, but what fun...

Love your car! It's so clean! Buying a well sorted car is definitely the way to go. The 07 was my street car and it gradually morphed into a half track half street monster with the 4.0L single turbo. It kept on breaking stuff on the track so I said enough. Make it into a track car so I can race rather than DE

Nice. Great platform, these mid-engine P-cars. Best of luck with the build!

Yes Randy Pobst was checking it out and coaching me at Buttonwillow. I was driving in the race when the tranny let go. Even though we had the boost limited to ~430 HP the tranny just can't take the torque for long. It ate another tranny at Laguna so I decided to bite the bullet and go with the Albins.
