Default 987 gen 1 & 2 body differences

Hey all Porsche xperts and fans!

So I bought a great 3.4 Boxster S 2009. Right now the car sails towards me so I'll probably have it in 2-3 weeks. I already started to look for parts as it's need some body fixing. I am looking for spare parts on local auctions or sales - because it's quite cheap and I'll do all the work myself (except for painting maybe).

1. Hood

That's a tricky one. I started off with phoning local Porsche dealer to ask for parts. They stated gen 1 & gen 2 have same hoods. Then the fun began. Phoning few different sellers I got some mixed information. First said that gen 1 hood have different moutings (i think that's what it's called) so it won't fit gen 2 car. Second said gen 1 was metal and gen 2 is aluminium - and have no idea about moutings. So what's the truth?

2. Fender (right)

I'm pretty sure gen 2 have slighlty different lights so fender needs to excatly gen 2... right?

The rest: both bumpers, and one of each lights (front & back) needs to be gen 2 for sure.

Last question is - are the parts under the bumpers same - I mean those big bars that might be slighty bended?

Thanks in advance for any answers!

And Brum, brum, brum !!! <making fast car souds>

I can confirm that 987.2 hood is aluminum.

987.1 also has aluminum hood, but don't know whether it is interchangeable with 987.2 hood.

Just checked this site - https://www.porscheatlantaperimeterp...101100GRV.html. Per them, 2007 and 2009 use same part number for front hood - 99751101100GRV. They are probably a good source for info on your other questions.

Also check out www.gaudinporscheparts.com for your parts. They have basically the entire parts catalog in there with pretty good prices from my experience compared to some of the other popular online Porsche parts sources.
