Default Visibility question...Tint- 15%

Anyone go 15% on the rear of their Cayman? How is the visibility?

Two weeks ago I went 20% ceramic all around...and wish it was a little darker. Because the tint guy wasn't able to get the rear window perfect (couple of bubbles on two of defrost lines), I'm having them redo it and I'm thinking of having them add 15% to the rear this time

That would likely render your back window unusable at night. I just had my 911 done at Tint World with their "Ultimate" 70% ceramic tint package on all windows and 45% Ceramic on my glass sunroof. It comes with a nationwide lifetime warranty. This was the perfect choice for where my sun-sensitive eyes are today. I have a prescription from my optometrist for tint, relatively easy to get, and makes my car legal, and I could have gone darker. But I'm very glad I did not. Tint World did an absolutely perfect installation, with no bubbles and no distortion, even up here in Chicagoland burbs where tint is not that popular outside the "hoods".
My 911 is now much cooler inside, UV free, and glare is now noticeably reduced!!
I'm loving it!

15% is really dark. I prefer darker tint (certainly exceeding the legal limit) but would not go 15% die to the decreased functionality as well as the near 'limo lint' look.

The legal limit here for front windows (not windscreen) is 35% transmittance. I had that done to my racing yellow Boxster and it's fine for me--day or night. I have seen many cars with darker but wouldn't want it for myself.

I found the wind deflector cut too much off the rear vision mirror, replaced it with a clear polycarbonate deflector for a much better view.

If you have sensors and camera i would do it. If not i would stick with 20 so at night or bad weather you can see outside a little better specifically for parking lots and backing up in dark garages and parking lots. I dont think the back being darker will help the overall darkness in the cabin during the day anyway.

I've got 20% on all the windows, with 70% on the windshield... i have no problem with visibility at night or in bad weather (plenty of that in Chicago)...

I live in hot TX, and even if it was legal (20% is illegal in front windows in most states, if not all), I wouldn't get 20%; you can't see crap at night man. It's downright dangerous. You could do 20% at the rear, like I do sometimes, but can't see detailed either. So lately I do 35% all around. The good news is it has the same UV protection as darker tints, looks great, and you can see perfectly inside the car. if you want full privacy, stay in your house.

After trying many levels of transparency on several cars over the years, I like 30 or 35% on all windows and 80% on windshield.
